Colors Of I Heart Boobies

Manandafy RAKOTONIRINA: a point on the political crisis. (Interview on Radio INRI)

Manandafy Rakotonirina
Dr. Mouketou (DM): How are you Mr. Prime Minister?

Manandafy Rakotonirina (MR): Me I am fine. But if I am well in my country instead it goes wrong. Social conditions are very hard. The coup when he took office has promised a level of food prices very different from the international price. Now the Malagasy eat rice at a higher price abroad. Similarly for sugar and cooking oil. So we have very difficult conditions with the junta, especially that international aid has disappeared after the coup they have done. You should know that in Madagascar, in 2009 -2009, 70% of the budget of state investment came from outside. And it disappeared as soon as the coup leaders took power. The State Madagascar is in a situation. He is unable to meet the immediate needs of the population. Here is the exact situation where we are.

DM: Your appreciation against the international situation

MR: is possible that it occurs at Madagascar against the de facto power is there right now and we are very conscious indeed. That's why I think my landline phone is locked. They could identify that I communicate with my phone, then you gave me on my cell phone.

DM: What about judicial independence in Madagascar? Can we talk about separation of powers in your country? Because we know there are political leaders, officers, legalists and human rights are humiliated, detained without trial.

MR: In Madagascar, Justice is manipulated by the junta to remain in power. Specifically, for example the case of 07 February. February 07 (2009), there was a shooting carried out against the crowd who marched against the palace of the President of the Republic. They condemned Marc Ravalomanana , a life sentence in this case. Or what it really is, that day, Ravalomanana was 400 km from the capital, he could not give orders, he was not at the palace, but it is men, accomplices of Rajoelina who fired on the crowd. One of the soldiers who participated in the operation has made a public admission last week by saying that it is such that made the shot and he was paid for 100 million Malagasy francs. Now, languages and begin to loosen things held secret begins to come to light. [...] All those working to expose what is really happening in the country whose convictions kind of judicial dummy suspended sentence of execution or provisional release. The current president of the National Assembly of the Transition is a hit provision of bail and may go to prison at any time. So there is this blackmail. As the Secretary General of the TIM, Mr. Rakotoarivelo Mamy that is struck in the same sentence. In that case, justice here is with the coup. It is through control of the judiciary improperly they get to stay in power. In Madagascar, there is no rule of law that works there is no respect for basic freedom.

DM: What are the consequences of Françafrique in your country? Can we now say that the policy of the French political elite do not like the Malagasy president in exile and why Françafrique she played a major role in the political crisis that Madagascar is now experiencing?

MR: What we know is that it started to fill up a little in Tana. I imagined simple movements of the crowd in the street but the French Minister , Bernard Kouchner phoned directly to President Ravalomanana Rajoelina , Roland Ratsiraka to tell them to calm things down and not be violent. The internationalization of a small phenomenon of street movement, it came directly from the French Minister of the time. Imagine a French minister who runs a small street movement in Antananarivo, I thought it was exaggerated. [...] Now, the Ambassador of France is the best support to the coup, but fortunately we have our African friends of SADC and the EU Africa no longer under the command of French Africa and I think we will have a crisis.

DM: how to overcome this political crisis?

MR: The political crisis, as you know is that there was a coup that overthrew democratically elected authority. It is at the root of the crisis and the international community has condemned the coup. To survive, we must go to elections as the French say, but before that, it will have a proper election machinery. Recently, the de facto power was amused to hold a referendum, but he could not afford to hold a referendum correct. He had 70 billion francs to organize our properly correct an election at national level. The authority has made available 50 billion of INEC fmg. Therefore, electoral maps were missing, many districts had no list of electors. From this, they believe imposing a Constitution to certify Rajoelina as President of the Republic pending presidential elections. Indirectly, they feel misused to gain legitimacy through a rigged referendum. To survive, he must establish a constitutional regime. We propose the establishment of a Presidium composed of three heads of state, former presidents Albert Zafy, Didier Ratsiraka and Marc Ravalomanana who are signatories to the Convention in Maputo.
